Hockey

Well, the fever has hit Calgary once again, and I love it! Game five is tonight and guess who might go?? My dad has his seasons tickets from work tonight (in the SECOND ROW!!!) and told me that if I bribed him well enough I could have them ( In the SECOND ROW!!!)....so far I'm not doing so well. He wanted a popsicle at 10:30 at night and I couldn't pull though...maybe I'll make him breakfast today...SECOND ROW!!

I'm not sure that my little heart can take it though. That loss in OT in game 4 almost killed me. Playoff hockey is so stressful, and tonight is a crucial game!!!

I love what hockey does for the City. Sure some Calgary fans are a little fickle and are definitely good time fans, but when we are doing well the city comes alive! The flames flags are everywhere, and the craze can only increase from here!!!

GO FLAMES!!!

Happy Birthday to ME

Yea! All I wanted for my birthday was for the Flames to win and my birthday wish came true....and the birthday fairies brought a few glasses of wine too...so my spelling might not be all that good....

Being Mean

So I had to lay the smack down at work today...and I have to admit that I kind of enjoyed it.

I've never really been the one to do the disciplining and I've always left it to the owner of the store, but I was the only one around today so it was all me.

Ah, is it a little sadistic that I enjoyed watching the girl squirm as she searched her brain for a justification for her actions? I would never give anyone a talking to like that if it wasn't 100% deserved, but man, I didn't know I had that sternness in me! And it felt good!

Ok, so this still isn't an update on what I've been up to for the past few weeks, and I'll try to do that soon, but this is all you get for now because I gotsta go to bed!

G'night!

The Fall of King Ralph

Hip Hip Hooray!!!!

It looks like some Albertans are finally coming to their senses! Although he didn't completely loose the leadership review vote last night, with 55% of his party still backing him, I think that the message was clear.

Your reign is coming to an end Mr. Klein, get outta there while you still have some respect.

Wait, I think you might have lost most people's respect when you drunkenly threw money at a homeless man and told him to get a job...too bad he already had a job, just couldn't afford housing in a province run to meet the needs of business before people....or maybe last month when you threw a book across the legislature a hit someone....

Well, I guess Redneck Alberta will soon have to find another fearless leader....good riddance!

I miss school

I never thought that I would feel this way, but I do. I miss school. A lot. I miss learning, I miss having people to chat with that will know what I'm talking about, I miss debating issues, I EVEN miss the late night library sessions!

Ah the library. I used to bring in my laptop and work on papers in the info commons because I get too distracted at home, but it was not always all that distraction free. Has anyone else noticed the sub-culture that exists in the library? There are about 3 or 4 cliques who like to hang out in the library. Some of them are doing work, at a very slow pace mind you with all the interruptions of their friends, and many of them are just there to socialize. In the Library. Strange, I know. And they spent so much time in there that they thought they owned the place. They didn't care how much noise they made and made fun of anyone who shot them angry looks when they shouted to each other across the room.....ah it was annoying on the days when I forgot my headphones to drown them out, but so interesting to watch. Who woulda thunk the library would be a good place to people watch?

Anyway, I digress. So I don't know if it's just that I've been out of school for almost a year now, or that I've been in my job for 6 months so the learning curve is leveling off, but I'm getting the itch to go back to school...I just don't know what I want to do. This program fascinates me and I know that I would love it, but a joint MBA/MSW would make me much more employable....I guess I have lots of time to decide because applications are generally not until February....
